We are excited about the construction of a new 4-Unit Aircraft Hangar at our Airport. This unit will provide 4 private aircraft hangars for single or twin engine aircraft owners. The individual hangars are 45' Wide X 40' Deep X 12' Height. They'll have electricity and water provided to each one. Wyatt Sasser Construction of Andalusia is the prime contractor who was awarded the contract through the bidding process. Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, also located in Andalusia with additional offices throughout Alabama, is the project engineering firm. This morning we poured the foundation for the unit (pictures below). The overall project is expected to be completed by May 1, 2023. 3 of the 4 hangars are already leased with the 4th hangar being used as an "overnight" or "daily" hangar for airport transient customers. Funding for this project is paid for through the Airport General Fund along with a 50/50 Project Grant through the Alabama Department of Transportation Aeronautics Bureau.
